How to Convert WebP to JPG

Three steps, all in your browser.

1

Add your WebP image

Drag the .webp file onto the drop zone or click to browse — images saved from websites often arrive as WebP. The file never leaves your device, and you will see its size and dimensions once it loads.

2

Keep JPG selected

JPG is pre-selected. Use the quality slider to balance sharpness against file size — 90 percent keeps photos crisp while staying small. You can switch to PNG or another format if you prefer.

3

Convert and download

Click Convert to render the JPG, preview it and compare the new file size, then download it with one tap. The image keeps its exact pixel dimensions — only the file format and size change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why convert WebP to JPG?
WebP is common on the web but still awkward off it: some photo editors, upload forms, printing services and older programs will not accept a .webp file. Images saved from a website often come down as WebP even when they look like ordinary photos. JPG is the universal photo format that opens in effectively every application and is accepted by every upload form, usually at a smaller file size than PNG.
Will converting WebP to JPG reduce the quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so some compression is applied. You can set the quality slider from 10 to 100 percent to balance file size against sharpness — 90 percent keeps photos looking crisp while staying small. The pixel dimensions of your image are always preserved; only the format and file size change.
What happens to transparency?
JPG cannot store an alpha channel, so any transparent areas in the WebP are placed on a white background when converted. If you need to keep transparency, convert to PNG or WebP instead — both support alpha.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using the built-in image decoder and canvas encoder. The WebP file is never sent to a server, logged or stored, and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded. Closing the tab clears everything.
Can I convert animated WebP files?
Only the first frame. JPG is a still-image format, so an animated WebP is flattened to its first frame when converted. If you need every frame, export the animation from a video or GIF tool instead.
