Add Border to Image

No — the border tool runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image is loaded, framed and downloaded on your own device — it is never sent to a server, logged or stored. That makes it safe for private or sensitive photos, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded. Closing the tab clears everything.

It grows the image outward — nothing in your original photo is covered or cropped. The output canvas gets larger by twice the border width in each direction, and your full photo is drawn in the middle. So a 1000 × 800 photo with a 24 px border becomes a 1048 × 848 image with the whole picture still visible inside the frame.

Yes. Use the colour picker to choose any colour you like, or tap one of the quick swatches for white, black or rose. White gives a clean polaroid-style mat, black makes colours pop for prints, and a bright colour can match a brand or social theme. The preview updates live as you change the colour or width.

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP are all accepted as input. You can export as PNG (lossless, best for graphics), JPG (smallest for photos) or WebP. The border itself is a solid colour, so the framed area is never transparent; if your photo had transparent areas, export as PNG to keep them inside the frame.

A border is a quick way to give a photo a polaroid or matted look, add clean whitespace before printing, make a product shot stand out, or frame an image so it sits neatly on a coloured social feed. A thin dark border also visually separates a light photo from a white page.
