How to Crop an Image to a Circle
Three steps, all in your browser.
Add your image
Drag a file onto the drop zone or click to browse. JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF and BMP are all accepted, and the file never leaves your device.
Frame the circle
Keep the shape on Circle, or switch to Rounded square and set the corner radius. Drag the selection to move it and pull a corner to resize — it stays a perfect square, so the result is a true circle.
Crop and download
Click Crop to circle and download a transparent PNG or WebP. Resize or shrink it next with the Image Resizer or Image Compressor, or crop a rectangle instead with the Image Cropper.
For a rectangular crop use Image Cropper, and to change the pixel size afterwards use Image Resizer. If you want the subject cut out from its background rather than a fixed shape, try Background Remover.
Common avatar sizes
A round avatar is cropped square first, then masked to a circle. Platforms display avatars at different sizes, so crop generously — these are the sizes the result is usually shown at.
