Blur Image

No — the blur tool runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image is loaded, blurred and downloaded on your own device — it is never sent to a server, logged or stored. That makes it safe for private or sensitive photos, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded. Closing the tab clears everything.

Switch the mode to Area, then drag the box over the part you want to hide and pull a corner to resize it. Only the pixels inside the box are blurred, so the rest of the photo stays sharp. Turn up the blur amount for a stronger, softer smear. This is the usual way to blur out a face, a name badge, a house number or a car number plate before sharing.

A strong blur permanently discards the fine detail in the exported image — there is no hidden sharp original inside the file to undo. But a very light blur, especially over small text or digits, can sometimes be partially recovered by sharpening. So use enough blur that the detail you are hiding is no longer readable, or cover truly sensitive text with a solid shape instead of a light blur.

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP are all accepted as input. You can export the result as PNG (lossless, best for screenshots and graphics), JPG (smallest for photos) or WebP. Animated GIFs are flattened to their first frame, like any canvas-based tool.

Whole image applies the blur to every pixel — useful for soft backgrounds, privacy previews or a frosted-glass look. Area blurs only inside the box you drag over the photo and blends the edges into the surrounding pixels, so you can hide one face or plate while the rest of the picture stays crisp. Switch between the two with the mode buttons; the live preview updates instantly.
