Does watermarking my image upload it?
No — the watermark tool runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image is loaded, watermarked and downloaded on your own device — it is never sent to a server, logged or stored. It keeps working offline once the page has loaded, and closing the tab clears everything.
How do I protect a whole photo, not just one corner?
Choose the Tiled position — the watermark text repeats diagonally across the entire image, which is much harder to crop out than a single corner mark. Keep the opacity low enough that the photo stays visible but the watermark still reads across it.
What opacity should I use?
A watermark around 30–50% opacity is usually visible without dominating the photo. Lower it if the mark is distracting, or raise it if it needs to stand out on a busy image. The preview updates live as you adjust the slider, so you can find the right balance before downloading.
Is the watermark permanent once downloaded?
Yes — the watermark is drawn directly into the image pixels and baked into the downloaded file, so it travels with the photo. It is not a removable layer. Keep your original un-watermarked file if you need a clean copy later.
Which formats can I use?
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP are accepted as input, and you can export as PNG, JPG or WebP. Animated GIFs are flattened to their first frame, like any canvas-based tool.
