How do I pick a color from an image?
Open or drag an image onto the tool, then move your cursor over it — a magnified loupe shows the exact pixel under the pointer so you can aim precisely. Click to capture that color, and its HEX, RGB and HSL values appear instantly, ready to copy with one tap. You can sample as many points as you like, and each one is kept in a session palette.
What color formats do I get — HEX, RGB and HSL?
Every color you pick is shown at once as a HEX code such as #3b82f6, an RGB triplet and an HSL value, each with its own copy button. HEX and RGB are what you will usually paste into CSS or a design tool, while HSL makes it easy to nudge hue, saturation or lightness. Is my image uploaded to a server?
No — the color picker runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API, so your image is read and sampled on your own device and is never sent to a server, logged or stored. That makes it safe for screenshots, mockups and confidential graphics, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded. Closing the tab clears the image and the palette.
Can I match a color exactly, pixel by pixel?
Yes — you can match a color pixel by pixel. The magnifier zooms into the area under your cursor so you can land on a single pixel rather than guessing, which matters when colors sit close together or along an edge. The value updates live as you move, and a click locks it in — so matching a brand color or an exact shade from a photo is precise rather than approximate.
