What image formats can I convert between?
You can convert any image between the five most common formats: PNG, JPG (JPEG), WEBP, GIF and BMP — and HEIC/HEIF photos from an iPhone or iPad and SVG vector graphics are accepted as input too (an SVG is rasterized at its own size). Every combination is supported — for example HEIC to JPG, PNG to JPG, JPG to WEBP, WebP to PNG, GIF to PNG, BMP to JPG, or PNG to GIF. Load an image in one format, pick the format you want, and download the converted file. PNG and WEBP keep transparency; JPG, BMP and GIF are placed on a white background because they do not store an alpha channel.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The image converter runs entirely in your browser. Your picture is decoded, re-encoded and downloaded on your own device, and it is never sent to a server, logged or stored. That makes it safe for private photos, screenshots, scans and confidential graphics, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded. Closing the tab clears everything.
Which format should I choose?
Choose PNG for screenshots, logos, icons and anything that needs sharp edges or transparency. Choose JPG for photographs where a small file matters and transparency is not needed. Choose WEBP for the smallest modern files that still support transparency, ideal for the web. Choose GIF for simple graphics or when a tool specifically needs a GIF. Choose BMP only when an old program or workflow requires an uncompressed bitmap, as BMP files are large.
Will converting reduce the quality?
It depends on the target format. PNG and BMP are lossless, so converting to them does not add any compression loss. JPG and WEBP are lossy, and you can set a quality slider from 10 to 100 percent to balance file size against sharpness. GIF is limited to 256 colors, so photographs converted to GIF lose color detail. The pixel dimensions of your image are always preserved — the converter does not resize it.
Is there a file size or batch limit?
There is no hard file-size limit other than your device's memory, because the work happens locally. Very large images simply take a moment longer to encode. The tool converts one image at a time so you can preview the result before downloading; to convert several files, repeat the steps for each.
