Weather & Astronomy Reference

Four free reference tables for the sky: a full-year moon phase calendar, sunrise & sunset times by city, the WMO weather-code cheat sheet, and upcoming eclipses. The first three are computed in your browser — no sign-up, no API.

Moon Phase Calendar

Every New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon and Last Quarter for the year, in your local time — each full moon labelled with its traditional name (Wolf, Strawberry, Harvest, a Blue Moon, and more).

Times are computed from astronomy formulas and shown in your device's local timezone. For tonight's live phase and a 30-day view, use the Moon Phase tool.

Sunrise & Sunset by City

Today's sunrise, sunset and day length for major cities — . Each city in its own local time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the moon phase calendar calculated?
It scans the moon's phase across the whole year in your browser (using the open-source SunCalc formulas) and pinpoints each New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon and Last Quarter to the minute. No API; times are in your local timezone. For tonight's live phase, see the Moon Phase tool.
What timezone are the sunrise and sunset times in?
Each city's times are shown in that city's own local time, for today. Everything is computed locally from each city's coordinates, so the table works offline and nothing is uploaded.
What is a WMO weather code?
A standard numeric code from the World Meteorological Organization that weather APIs like Open-Meteo use to describe conditions (0 = clear, 3 = overcast, 61 = light rain, 95 = thunderstorm). The cheat sheet maps each code to a plain-English condition.
When is the next total solar eclipse?
The next total solar eclipse is August 12, 2026, over Greenland, Iceland, and Spain — the first totality over mainland Europe since 1999. The calendar covers solar & lunar eclipses through 2028 with dates, type, and visibility region from NASA predictions. Exact local times vary by location.
