Frequently Asked Questions

What is the LK Forge Weather suite?
Four free, browser-based sky tools that share one location: a Weather Forecast, Weather Alerts, Moon Phase, and Sun Times. The forecast (Open-Meteo) and alerts (US National Weather Service) use free public APIs for live data; Moon and Sun are pure astronomy maths that run entirely in your browser and work offline. None require a sign-up.
Which tools work offline?
Moon Phase and Sun Times work fully offline once loaded, because they compute everything locally from astronomy formulas. The Weather Forecast needs a connection because it requests live data from Open-Meteo for your chosen location.
Do I need to share my location?
It depends on the tool. The moon phase is identical everywhere, so it needs no location. Sun times and the forecast need a place — search for a city or use your device location. For the forecast those coordinates go to Open-Meteo; for sun times only the maths runs in your browser.
