How to Sign a PDF

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign a PDF?
Load your PDF, then create a signature by drawing on the pad, typing your name, or uploading an image. Click Add to page, drag the signature into place and resize it, then click Sign PDF to download the signed copy. The signature is drawn into a new file, so your original PDF is untouched.
Is this a legally binding digital signature?
This adds a visible signature image to the page — the same as signing a printout and scanning it. It is not a certificate-based cryptographic digital signature that embeds a verified identity; if you need that, use a dedicated e-signature service. Whether a drawn signature is legally sufficient depends on your jurisdiction and the document.
Can I type or upload my signature instead of drawing?
Yes — a signature can be typed or uploaded instead of drawn. The Type tab renders your name in a script font, and the Upload tab lets you drop in a signature image (a transparent PNG looks best). Both can be placed and resized just like a drawn signature.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No — the PDF stays on your device. The PDF and your signature are combined in your browser with pdf-lib. Nothing is uploaded — closing the tab clears everything.
