How to Extract Text from a PDF
Three steps, all in your browser.
Add your PDF
Drag in a PDF, or click the box to browse. The file stays on your device — it is read locally with the same engine Firefox uses to display PDFs, so nothing is uploaded.
Extract
Click Extract text and every page is read in one pass. Line breaks are kept where the PDF records them and pages are separated by blank lines, with a word and character count when it finishes.
Copy or download
Copy the text straight to the clipboard, or download the whole thing as a .txt file named after the PDF. Need to go the other way — a Word document into a PDF? Use the Word to PDF converter.
If nothing comes out, the PDF is probably a scan — run OCR PDF first to create a text layer. For a formatted document use PDF to Word, and for the pages as pictures use PDF to JPG.
