How do I convert a PDF to JPG?
Drop the PDF onto the converter, leave the format on JPG (or switch to PNG), pick a quality and resolution, then click Convert. Every page of the PDF is rendered as its own image, right in your browser — download pages one at a time or grab them all in a single zip. The file is never uploaded to a server.
Should I choose JPG or PNG?
JPG is the default because it produces much smaller files and suits most documents and photo-heavy pages — the quality slider lets you trade file size for sharpness. PNG is lossless and keeps text and line art pixel-crisp, which is better for diagrams, screenshots or anything with hard edges, at the cost of a larger file. If you are not sure, start with JPG at a high quality setting.
What resolution do the images come out at?
You pick it. 1x renders each page at its nominal size (about 72 DPI, fine for screens and quick previews), and 2x doubles that (about 144 DPI, sharper and the better choice if you plan to zoom in or print). A standard A4 page at 2x comes out around 1190 × 1684 pixels. Higher resolution produces larger files and takes a little longer on long PDFs.
Will this work on a scanned PDF?
Yes — this tool renders each page as a picture, so it works the same whether the PDF is a scan (a photograph of paper) or a normal text document. That is different from the PDF to Text converter, which needs a real text layer and cannot read scans at all. If your PDF is a scan and you actually need the words, you would need an OCR tool, not an image converter.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using the same rendering engine Firefox uses to display PDFs. Your document is read and rendered on your own device, and nothing is uploaded, logged or stored — safe for contracts, statements and anything private. Closing the tab clears everything.
Can I convert a multi-page PDF into images at once?
Yes — that is the point of this tool. Every page is converted in one pass and listed with its own preview and download button; for anything longer than one page you also get a Download all button that packs every image into a single pages.zip.
