Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add page numbers to a PDF?
Load your PDF, choose where the number should sit (for example bottom-centre), pick a format such as “1 of N”, set the starting number, then click Add Page Numbers to download the numbered file. The number is drawn onto every page of a new copy, so your original file is untouched. Position, format and starting number can all be changed and applied again.
Can I start numbering at a different number?
Yes — numbering can start wherever you want. Set “Start at” to any value — handy when a document’s first page is a cover and you want page 1 to be the second sheet. The count runs in document order from there.
What number formats are available?
Plain (1), “1 of N”, “Page 1” and “Page 1 of N”, where N is the last number in the sequence. The chosen format is applied to every page in one pass. Position is set separately, so any format can sit bottom or top, left, centre or right.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No — the PDF stays on your device. Numbers are drawn in your browser with pdf-lib and nothing is uploaded. Closing the tab clears everything.
