How to create a quote
Start by filling in your business — the name, address and contact details that appear at the top of the quote — and optionally add your logo. Then enter who the quote is for under Prepared for. Add a line for each product or service with a quantity and unit price; the amount for each row and the running subtotal are worked out for you. Set a discount and a tax rate if they apply, add scope or terms as a note, set a valid until date, and the total updates instantly.
Download as PDF or print
When your quote looks right, click Download PDF to save a clean, professional A4 PDF you can email to your client, or click Print to send it to a printer or save it from your browser's print dialog. The PDF is built on your device by a self-hosted PDF engine — there is no upload, no queue and no server round-trip — and it is named after your quote number, for example quote-QUO-0001.pdf. Your figures and your client's details are never sent anywhere, and your current quote is saved locally, so it's still here next time you open the page on the same device.
Quote, estimate or invoice?
A quote is a fixed price you commit to for the work described, so the customer can accept it as offered. An estimate is your best approximation, which may change once the job is fully scoped — this generator makes either; use the notes to say which. Both usually carry a unique number, the date, a valid until date, your business and the client's details, an itemised list, the subtotal, any tax and the total. Once the customer accepts, the quote becomes an invoice — a request for payment with a due date — which you can raise in the Invoice Generator. There is no cap on the number of line items, the discount can be a flat amount or a percentage (and is never allowed to exceed the subtotal), tax is applied after the discount, and you can pick from 14 currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, NZD, JPY, CNY, CHF, INR, SGD, ZAR, BRL and MXN.
Free quote generator: the specifics
"Free, no sign-up, instant PDF" is said by nearly every quoting tool. Here is what each of those words means on this page, spelled out so you can check it against anything else you are looking at.
| Feature | LK Forge Quote Generator |
|---|---|
| Sign-up required | None. No account, no email address, no free trial — the form on this page is the whole product. |
| Where processing happens | Entirely in your browser. The page sends none of your data anywhere; the PDF is built on your device by a self-hosted PDF engine, and your current quote is kept only in your browser's local storage. |
| Quote or estimate | Both. The same fields make a fixed quote or an approximate estimate — the notes and the "valid until" date let you say which. |
| Currencies | 14 — USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, NZD, JPY, CNY, CHF, INR, SGD, ZAR, BRL, MXN. |
| Turn into an invoice | Yes. When the quote is accepted, re-enter the line items in the Invoice Generator to bill for the work. |
| Watermark | None. The PDF carries your logo and your details, and no branding of ours. |
| Quote limit | None. There is no cap on how many quotes you create, and no cap on the number of line items on one quote. |
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a quote and an estimate?
A quote (or quotation) is a fixed price you commit to for the work described — the customer can accept it as offered. An estimate is your best approximation, which may change once the work is scoped in detail. This generator produces either: fill in the same fields, and use the notes and the valid until date to say whether the figure is firm or approximate. A quote becomes an invoice once the customer accepts and you are ready to bill.
Is this quote generator really free?
Yes — the LK Forge Quote Generator is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many quotes you create. It runs entirely in your browser, so your business and client details are never uploaded to a server. The PDF you download is the finished quote, built on your own device.
Can I add my company logo?
Yes — the quote generator takes your own business logo. Click Add logo and choose a PNG or JPG image. It appears at the top of the quote preview and in the downloaded PDF. The image stays on your device and is embedded straight into the PDF.
Does the quote generator work out tax, discounts and the total?
Yes — the quote generator totals every line, then applies a discount and a tax rate to reach the quoted total. Each line total is quantity multiplied by unit price, and those line totals add up to the subtotal. A discount can be a flat amount or a percentage, and it is subtracted from the subtotal before tax, so tax is charged on the discounted figure. The tax rate is a percentage you set yourself, with a label such as VAT or GST, and every figure is rounded to two decimal places.
