About Neptune
Neptune is the eighth and most distant planet from the Sun, a deep-blue ice giant orbiting about 4.5 billion kilometres away. It has the strongest winds in the solar system, reaching over 2,000 kilometres per hour.
Invisible to the naked eye, Neptune was the first planet found through mathematical prediction rather than observation. It takes about 165 Earth years to complete a single orbit of the Sun.
