How do I test my controller in the browser?

Which controllers work with the gamepad tester?
Any controller your browser exposes through the Gamepad API works, including Xbox, PlayStation DualShock and DualSense, Nintendo Switch Pro and most third-party and USB pads. Controllers that report the standard mapping show labelled buttons like A, B, X and Y; others still work but show numbered buttons and raw axes. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all support the Gamepad API.
Why is my controller not detected?
If nothing appears, press a button or move a stick first, because the browser reveals a gamepad only after its first input. Check that the cable or Bluetooth pairing is solid, that no other app or game is holding exclusive control of the pad, and that the browser tab is focused. Some pads have a mode switch (for example DirectInput versus XInput) that changes how they are seen; try the other mode. Reconnecting the controller often fixes a pad that stopped responding.
Can I use this to check for stick drift?
Yes — leave both sticks untouched and watch the axis values. On a healthy controller they rest near 0.00; if a value drifts away from zero or the on-screen dot moves on its own, that stick has drift. The tester shows the raw axis numbers to two decimals so you can see small amounts of drift that a game might hide behind a dead zone. The same idea works for triggers, which should read 0.00 at rest and 1.00 fully pressed.
