Thirteen original cupcakes, from a humble Vanilla Sprinkle to the Golden Crown. All artwork is our own.
This is 2048 Cupcakes: the classic 4×4 slide-and-merge puzzle where every power of two is an original cupcake. Same rules, same AI solver — sweeter tiles.
The fastest way to 2048 is the corner-snake method. Choose one corner — most players use the bottom-right — and never let your biggest tile leave it.
Used consistently, this is the most reliable route to the 2048 tile. Read the full strategy guide or the corner-snake strategy explained.
Tap AI Hint and the online solver scores every legal move with expectimax search — it looks several moves ahead, averaging over the random tile spawns — guided by a heuristic that rewards empty space and a clean corner-snake ordering. It then names the strongest direction and why.
AI Auto-Play turns this into a 2048 auto solver: hand the whole board to the engine and watch this game solver solve 2048 automatically, move by move, right in your browser. Toggle auto play off any time to take over.
How well does the 2048 solver actually play? On the classic 4×4 board, we ran its exact search code headless for 250 self-play games (standard 90% “2” / 10% “4” spawns) and measured how far it gets:
Those figures apply here directly — 2048 Cupcakes runs on the standard 4×4 board with the same engine; only the art changes.

What replaces the numbers in 2048 Cupcakes?
Every power of two is a cupcake. The merge order runs Vanilla Sprinkle (2), Strawberry Swirl (4), Chocolate Chip (8), Mint Frost (16), Blueberry Burst (32), Lemon Zest (64), Red Velvet (128), Salted Caramel (256), Cookies & Cream (512) and Birthday Blast (1024) — merge two Birthday Blasts and you win with the Rainbow Royale (2048).
Can I show or hide the numbers?
Yes. Each cupcake carries a small number badge by default so you always know its value. Untick Show numbers under the board to play the classic picture-only way — the merge-order legend below is there whenever you need a reminder.
Do the AI hint and autoplay work in 2048 Cupcakes?
Yes — this is the classic 4x4 board with cupcake art, powered by the exact same expectimax solver. In our 250-game self-play test it reached the 2048 tile in 69.6% of runs, so expect strong hints, not perfection.
What comes after the Rainbow Royale?
Keep going: two Rainbow Royales bake into the Galaxy Glaze (4096), and two of those make the Golden Crown (8192) — a tier our own solver has never reached in testing. Beyond that the tiles switch to a plain golden style.
