How to Fix a Stuck Pixel

A stuck pixel has power but its sub-pixels are frozen on one colour. Flashing colours over it very fast can shake them loose — here's the routine.

Find and clean the spot

Run the dead pixel test first to locate the pixel and confirm it's stuck (shows a colour) rather than dead (stays black on white). Wipe the area gently in case it's just dust, and check the same spot on the black screen to see whether it glows.

Drag the flasher over it

Start the fixer and drag the flashing box until it sits directly on top of the stuck pixel. Use a smaller box for pinpoint accuracy, or Whole screen if you can't tell exactly where it is.

Let it run, then re-check

Leave it flashing for 10 minutes or more. Exit and re-run the dead pixel test to see if it recovered. Repeat over a day or two for stubborn pixels — many free eventually, though a truly dead one usually won't. Once it's clear, the monitor test checks the rest of the panel.
