Are the music tools free?
Yes — every music tool here is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and nothing to install. They run entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API, so the sound is generated on your device and nothing you play is uploaded. After the page loads they work offline. There is no paid tier, no trial and no feature held back behind a sign-up, because the tools run entirely on your own device and cost nothing to serve. Every tool in the suite is built on the Web Audio API, so the sound is generated locally rather than streamed, and nothing you play is uploaded.
Do I need to install anything or grant permissions?
No installation is needed — just open a tool and start. Most tools need no permissions at all. The exceptions are the four tuners (guitar, bass, ukulele and violin) and the Vocal Range Test, which ask to use your microphone so they can hear the pitch; that audio is analysed on your device and never recorded or uploaded, and each tuner also lets you tune by ear with reference tones without a microphone.

Do they work on phones and tablets?
Yes — every music tool works in a modern mobile browser with touch support — you can tap piano keys, toggle sequencer steps and use the controls with your finger. Because of how mobile browsers handle audio, tap the screen once to start sound. Every tool is laid out responsively and the controls are sized for touch, so a phone or tablet works the same way a desktop does. One difference worth knowing: mobile browsers will not produce sound until you interact with the page, so tap the screen once before pressing play. The microphone tools also need you to grant permission each time on iOS.
