Frequently Asked Questions

Does the online notepad save my notes automatically?
Yes. Everything you type is saved automatically in your browser's local storage a moment after you stop typing, and restored when you return on the same browser and device. The notes survive closing the tab and restarting the computer. Clearing site data, using a private window, or a different browser or device will not show the same notes, since local storage is specific to one browser.
Is my text private, or is it uploaded anywhere?
Your text is private. The notepad runs entirely in your browser and never sends what you type to a server — no account, no sign-up, no sync. The notes are stored only on your device, so it is safe for quick drafts, meeting notes or anything you would rather not put in a cloud app. Use Download to save a text file, or Copy to move the text elsewhere.
How do I get my notes onto another device?
Because the notepad saves locally rather than to an account, notes do not sync between devices. To move them, use Download to save a .txt file and open it on the other device, or Copy and paste the text into an email, chat or document. This keeps the tool completely private with no login.
Will I lose my notes if I close the tab?
No. Closing the tab or the browser does not lose your notes — they are written to local storage as you type and loaded again next time. The main ways to lose them are clearing your browser's site data, using the Clear button, or the browser evicting storage when the device is very low on space. For anything important, download a text copy as a backup.
