What makes a Sudoku easy?

An easy Sudoku starts with roughly 45 given numbers, a little over half the grid. That generous head start means you can finish using only the two simplest techniques — naked singles (a cell with just one possible digit) and hidden singles (a digit with just one possible home in a row, column or box). No pairs, no chains, no guessing. Like every puzzle here, each easy grid is machine-verified to have exactly one solution, so the logic always works out.

How to solve easy Sudoku

Scan each row, column and 3×3 box for a cell where only one digit can legally fit — that is a naked single. When a cell looks ambiguous, flip the question around: pick a digit and check where it can go inside a box. If there is only one open cell, that digit is forced there — a hidden single. Those two moves alone will carry you through any easy puzzle. For a full walkthrough see how to play Sudoku, or the solving-techniques guide.
